Registration is complete! We will meet at 10:15 at the OSU Wooster Science building at 1600 Wilson Rd. Wooster, Oh 44691 (link below). Look for the main entrance with the glass and steel sculpture. Our group will be divided between ages 8-11, and 12+. There are two parts, so we will switch half way through. Edit to add time. Also Secrist Arboretum is close by for whoever wants to pack a lunch and check that out after the program!
I am planning a field trip to OSU’s Wooster Extension Bug Zoo for an Arthropod Adaptation Class, grades 3-12. The class will cover basic insect anatomy, common insect orders, and learning to observe live insects. If we have a large enough group we can split up by age. The max is 30 students.
It’s a minimum of $75/group, or $5/child for groups of 15 mor more. Once I have a final head count I will let everyone know the final price/child. Please RSVP by September 18th.

Thanks to everyone who came out today!!
For those interested in learning more about keeping some of the insects we met today as pets, The Cleveland Reptile Show often has folks there. As our guide today kindly informed me that it’s best practice to check to see if the seller is breeding their insects themselves to ensure wild populations do not become threatened. Next show is October 19th 9:00am - 3:00pm. Pet Pedes and Pods is very nice, so were the folks with the Praying Mantids. I think they were called Mantis Place 🧐. Just be ready to see lots of snakes too! Thanks again!
