General Conversations

Anyone interested in homeschooling programs for their kids through Cleveland Metroparks may fill out this survey and email it back to Jenny McClain. I believe she sent this to those that attended Archery, but I'm sharing this for others in our group that may not have seen this. Feel free to share among your homeschooling friends, too.

It's a good opportunity to help influence homeschooling programs in our community, so please fill it out if you are at all interested in this type of programming!

Good afternoon!

You are receiving this email because you have previously participated in a home school program led by the staff at Brecksville Nature Center, either with a group, or through our Outdoor Adventures for Homeschoolers (OAH) program a few years ago. We are considering starting up the OAH program again, beginning in September, and would greatly value your input on times, content, registration, etc. We would offer it once per month, September - May.

I know you are all very busy, but any input you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Please reply to the following questions by May 28:

1. What age group would you like to see our program target?

2. What type of content would be the most beneficial to your children?

a. nature-based lessons (forest ecology, wildflower identification, birding, reptiles/amphibians, trees, etc.)

b. outdoor recreation programs (kayaking, cross country skiing, sailing, etc.)

c. wilderness skills (fire building, knots, outdoor cooking, compass skills, etc.)

d. a little bit of everything above

3. What day of the week would you prefer? Please list your top three days in order of importance.

4. What time of day works best, morning or afternoon?

5. How would you prefer to register?

a. once for the entire series

b. each month

c. each quarter (Sep-Nov, Dec-Feb, Mar-May)

6. Please share any other comments, thoughts, etc. that would be helpful as we consider our future offerings:
