Stock Market Game Challenge – Gauging Interest

UPDATE: Great! We have plenty of interest so we will plan on the Spring session. I will get details together in October.

Hi MCHF! I debated putting this in general conversations or here, but I decided on here, I hope, for more eyes.

I’m putting together a Stock Market Game Challenge for my boys and wanted to see if anyone else might want to join in.

Depending on the program we use, students will work in teams of 2–5, with each member assigned a role. Teams will meet virtually once a week for 15–30 minutes to plan and make decisions. There will be some self-directed learning and research, but it’s a great way to explore investing, economics, and teamwork in a fun, hands-on way.

I’m planning to start with two teams—one for middle school and one for high school—but if more friends are interested, we can definitely add more teams and parent supervisors. We can also play more than once if it’s a hit or someone can organize it next year!

There are three session options (exact dates coming but it wouldn't start until the end of Sept):

  • Fall Session: October to December

  • Spring Session: February to April

  • Year-Long Session: September to April

Heads-up: There may be a small fee per child (anywhere from $2 to $25) that goes directly to the organization running the game—not to me. If that’s a concern, please let me know so I can keep it in mind while planning.

Let me know if your kids might be interested, and I’ll keep you posted as details come together!

Hi Kristina - I think it will be mostly via zooms and very flexible because my life is crazy. 🤪 However, it will be the Spring session and I will get everyone details in October.
