Forward Email: Save Those Notification Letters

Just thought I'd let you all know about something interesting about homeschooling documentation. I find myself digging through boxes in the basement looking for the letters from the school district confirming receipt of my homeschool notifications. From 6+ years ago! My children have both graduated from college at this point, so I may have well decided the notification letters were no longer needed. Well, I was wrong and I hope I still have them because my son's new job includes a government security clearance and they aren't sure what to do about a homeschooler that they cannot contact an official entity to verify his attendance for high school. All I have are those letters and my old lesson plans. If I have them. Who woulda thought I would need the excess papers after he graduated from college?? Hindsight says to scan everything and keep a digital copy if keeping paper is an issue. Wish I'd thought ahead! ~Tammy
